The club has two annual championships. The principal competition allows 90 minutes per player per game, and the quickplay competition 30 minutes per player per game. Matches are played on club evenings.

There is also a blitz competition (10 minutes for each player for all moves) played a week or two before Christmas.

RESULTS IN 2007-08

At the end of May Dave McMath had emerged as club champion, with Andy McAtear half a point behind. With the quickplay result this made Dave double champion for 2007-08.

Quickplay championship: Dave Mcmath beat Andy McAtear in the final by 1½ - ½.

Blitz: The annual all-play-all competition was held on 12th December and was won by Andy McAtear with 6/7. Dave McMath came second with 5/6. More details in Andy's log

RESULTS IN 2006-07

The season saw a new club champion. Robert Patla finished his championship run with 8 points from 9 games, and took first place. Dave McMath came second with 6 points from 10. Andy McAtear held on to third place with 4½/9. (One member had to withdraw, so the totals are lower than those given at earlier dates.)



Blitz: The Christmas blitz competition was held on 20th December. It was won by Robert Patla with a perfect 8/8. Jacob McAtear, back from university, lost on time against Robert and came second with 7/8

Jacob McAtear made a clean sweep of the club championships in 2005-06.

He won the main club championship for the second successive year with 6½ points from 8 games. Dave Siddall and Dave McMath were runners up with 4 points from 7 games.

In the quickplay championship Jacob beat Andy McAtear in the final by 2-0.

RESULTS IN 2004-05

Jacob McAtear was also club champion in 2004-05.

The quickplay championship was won by Dave McMath, with Clive Mounsey as runner-up.
