12.g4 An astonishing thing now happened. On receipt of White's 18th move I discovered that it was not valid according to my records. I checked back through the e-mails and discovered that I had made an administrative error. I had recorded White's 12th move as 12. Rhe1 instead of 12. g4. As this happened on 14 February 2004 and I discovered the error on 27 May 2004, it is amazing that I still had a playable position 7 moves later and that it is so similar to the one I was studying.
